The Starship OBREADY is a local Star Trek club representing the Eastern townships of Canada. The group is dedicated to organising activites, regrouping local members and keeping them informed of all Star Trek and sci-fi events in Canada. The name OBREADY is inspired by the founder Maurice O'bready who re-named "Les Cantons de l'Est" to " Estrie " in 1946, hence the hull number NCC- 1946.
Stardate 28112010.... The Senior officers of Starbase 24 and the USS Obready got together for an impromptu 8 hour meeting, thanks to the video conferencing facilites of Skype.

It has now been 3 years since the launch of the Eastern Township STAR TREK club STARSHIP OBREADY. And after 4 fundraising event, we now open our helping hand to the Autistic and those with attention deficit disorder. Our inspiration comes from one of our members Sheila Quinn, who's son is autistic.
After having opened up a project meeting with Mrs. Helene Quigley of the SATEDE Institute, we found ourselves amazed at the amount of knowledge that she posessed. Her insight into all types of attention deficit disorder and their parallels gave us cause to press the event even more to inform our local community as well as raise money to aid the family of the Autistic community. In fact, we were able, without effort, to convice her to join us on UNITY Bowl-A-Thon night. She will be of great value information-wise for the public that will visit the Bowl-a-Rama in Rock Forest. Mrs Quigley is the one who was in fact for the Idea of taking the ( Visiting a new world ) aproach to illustrate the way we should see the autistic community.
As with all fundraising events, we will once again have the assistance of the Eastern Township GHOSTBUSTERS. We are relieved to see that without effort, they have offered to be with us on all major events that will be of benefit to our local community.
We hope the UNITY Bowl-a-Thon will be an event that will not only raise money but also awareness for Autistim.

As STARSHIP OBREADY sets off to ENGAGE in the first ever Sci-fi event in the Eastern Townships with COUNTRYCON, we take to time to consider our friends in the UNITED KINGDOM. Going into their 6 banquet ever, STARBASE 24 will be raising support and funds for the Macmillan Foundation.
Cancer is a Deadly plague that so much of our loved ones. And we are proud to see that our allies continue to wage war against this terrible disease. All in the hopes that we may all live long and prosper ine the near future.
